Letter dated 18 July 2013 from the Permanent Representative of Cyprus to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary-General
Upon instructions from my Government, I transmit herewith, in two separate annexes, both the recorded infringements of international air traffic regulations and violations of the national airspace of the Republic of Cyprus by Turkey (see annex I) and the illegal use of closed ports by Turkish warships during the month of June 2013 (see annex II). It should also be noted that Turkish commercial aircraft systematically use the illegal airport of Tympou. I have the honour to draw your attention to the systematic abuses by Turkey of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Cyprus by its blatantly violating international law in a way that seriously jeopardizes safety and security in the greater region.
I would be grateful if you would circulate the present letter and its annexes as a document of the General Assembly, under agenda item 43, and of the Security Council.
